Religious festival in the Sri Lanka



 Kataragama Perahera🙏🌼

All religions join in the kataragama Perahera festival. It was held on 29th of July 2022. They cleanse them selves in the Menik  River,
Kataragama and make their offering to the shrine.

        Some Sri Lankans perform excruciating acts 
Such as swinging on hooks pierced to their skin some roll barely clads on hot sands near the temple.The beautiful Kataragama perahera starts with whip crackers.Then a parade of elephant with glittery clothes and a procession with dancers,drummers,torchbearers,devil dancers, flame dancers and incense be arers.Kavadi Dancing is the dance of the Peacock ,the vehicle of God Skanda.

           It is a tradition that during the last the Kataragama Esala Perahera begins with the Kap Situweema.Fire walking is the main tradition of the Kataragama festival.The procession parades the streets for 14 to 15 days as per the auspicious time.lt is an unforgettable day for all buddhists in the world.

                   🎶🎵Baila music❤️💃😍 Baila is a popular Sri Lankan music and dance genre.The genre orginated centuries ago among  the Portuguese Burghers and Sri Lankan Kaffirs.
